About Us
A little bit about who we are...
Introducing BLADEcpREPAIR.COM - a website dedicated to the repair and maintenance of the BLADE CP electric micro RC helicopter. Our goal is to provide BLADE owners with a one-stop resource for all maintenance and repair information. You'll find it all here. From preventive maintenance to 3D flight modifications.
Welcome, my name is Rob Moll. I am a BLADE CP owner since September of 2005 and can't put it down. Actually I have two! I fly every chance I get. My helicopter interest stems from my past where I served in the Army as a UH-1H (Huey) Crewchief from 1977-1980. For another seven years, I worked for the Department of the Army as a Civilian Aircraft Technician working primarily on Hueys' but occasionally on OH-58 and fixed-wing (yawn) as well.
The goal of this website is to provide you with a single-stop resource for BLADE CP repair and modification information. As an Army aircraft technician I was required to do everything "by the book" and incorporated that into a similar step-by-step manual for you. The format of the Maintenance Manual Table of Contents allows you to view all points of interest at once, offering a simple selection process. Some insight is provided where a certain operation performed on the BLADE CP relates to how it would have been performed on a real helicopter such as a Huey. You see these represented by a grey box located on various pages of the website.
The knowledge and experience I have obtained comes from hands-on experience, reading various articles and visiting different websites and user forums. Some of the methods demonstrated here are of my own design based on procedures I would have used on an actual Huey. Others I have picked up from research and through users like you. One thing is for sure, if you own a RC "anything" you need to be able to fix it and have the right tools to accomplish it.
I hope to be overloaded with input from users as to how you think the BLADE CP should be repaired or modified. Call it open-source if you will. Together, with your input, we make this manual applicable to all. If several feasible methods are offered, they can be listed according to popularity. Vendor and pricing information listed will help in your quest for parts.
Once again, this website will be based on input I get from you and other research from the web.
This site is a work-in-progress. There is a good deal of the Maintenance Manual finished - the User Forum is ready to go - The Photo Gallery feature is up and running. There is still a lot of work to be done but I felt I needed to introduce it now because I see a real need for this type of information while visiting my favorite RC user forums around the web.
I am now an IT manager specializing in website construction for a Midwestern chemical-products manufacturer. So it is relatively easy to put this information up on the web, basically consolidating information from many web resources into one website. I hope it serves you well and look forward to your input and feedback.
